Dancing makes me feel good externally and internally.
It exercises my brain as well as my body because I start thinking differently. I have a feeling of accomplishment when I learn not just new steps, but a new way to move my body that looks graceful and beautiful on the dance floor.
Dancing has also allowed me to make new friends from different walks of life that I probably wouldn’t have met in my day to day existence. You do a lot of touching in dance and I think I like that part most of all!

Ballroom dancing for me is synonymous with stress reduction.
Recent health problems brought me to the FADS. I feel the improvement in my cardio-vascular system when I exercise to the cadence of the music. The music creates a rhythm to which my body responds well. My dancing has contributed to the improvement of my posture and body alignment.
Dancing is a super way to relieve tension. Think of all the fun one can have, exercising and becoming healthier at the same time.

One of the most fun aspects of dancing is watching how I've improved over the four years I've been competing.
I first bravely stepped out onto the floor at the Harvard Beginner's Competition with no idea what I was doing.
Then, after three years of dedicated lessons with Armin and many hours of practice, I was winning in collegiate Open Latin! I take that as a testimony to Armin's great teaching techniques and dedication to his students and the MIT team. FADS Boston is a fun studio at which to be training. The attitude is very positive, and the staff and students get along very well. I can count on the staff to be honest about my dancing, and to support me in achieving my goals.
